Bayethe is a splendid stone walled, thatch roofed lodge which has a large deck area overlooking a waterhole. There is a double volume lounge & dining area leading out onto a deck which is adjacent to the outside boma for traditional fireside dining available under the stars.

There are 9 luxury tents are camouflaged under trees allowing for ample privacy and unsurpassed comforts. Each of the tents are air-conditioned and heated and has an en-suite bathroom, shower, private plunge pool and viewing deck.

Rates

• Rates are:
  • applicable to new bookings only
  • quoted, invoiced and payable in ZAR
  • quoted per adult sharing per night
  • subject to a 50% supplement for rooms/suites occupied by one adult
  • inclusive of all meals, two games drives and selected beverages (premium brands not included), tourism levy and 14% Vat
  • subject to change without prior notice

• We recommend a minimum stay of two nights throughout the year

Children Policy

• This policy applies to all persons from 0 up to and including 11 years old
• Persons from 12 years and older are considered as adults and will therefore require their own room/suite at the applicable rates
• Persons under the age of 16 years are not permitted on any walking safaris
• Children are accommodated at Riverdene Lodge and Sarili Lodge only
• Child rates are
  • applicable whether children share a room with adults or not
  • inclusive of meals, non alcoholic beverages, activities (age dependant) and the “Kids on Safari” program
• 0 – 3 Year old
  • are accommodated at no additional cost
  • may share with adults, depending on the availability of cots and/or rooms with a sleeper couch
  • are not permitted on game drives
• 4 – 11 Year old
  • are accommodated at 50% (half) of the adult sharing rate
  • may share with adults, depending on the availability of rooms with a sleeper couch
  • are permitted on game drives
• Sleeper couches can accommodate a maximum of one child each
• Cots can accommodate a maximum of one child per cot
• Rooms accommodating children sharing with parents contains one sleeper couch per room
• Child minding are done by lodge staff and can be arranged at an additional cost

• We highly recommend that travel insurance is taken out

Transfers

• Transfers can be arranged with reservations on request at additional costs
• All transfers are handled by accredited car hire and charter companies
• Transfer from/to private landing strips are complimentary, but must be booked prior to arrival

Payment

• 25% Deposit will be required within 14 days of reservation being made
• Balance will be required 30 days prior to arrival
• Full pre payment will be required at time of booking for reservations made within 30 days of arrival

Cancellations

Peak Season (20 December – 10 January)

• Only written cancellations will be accepted. Ensure to receive an acknowledgment of cancellations from reservations
• 50% of fee if cancellation less than 60 days prior to arrival
• 100% of fee if cancellation less than 30 days prior to arrival

General

• Only written cancellations will be accepted. Ensure to receive an acknowledgment of cancellations from reservations
• 25% of fee if cancellation less than 30 days prior to arrival
• 50% of fee if cancellation less than 15 days prior to arrival
• 100% of fee if cancellation less than 7 days prior to arrival

Group/Conference: Deposit, Payment and Cancellation

· Policy applies to bookings of eight (8) or more people

· A minimum of a 2 night stay applies through out the year

• A 10% non-refundable deposit may be requested at the time of booking in order to secure rooms, depending on the size of the group
• A 50% non-refundable deposit is payable 90 days prior to arrival
• A 100% non-refundable payment 60 days prior to arrival
• Every 16^th person confirmed will be free of charge, inclusive of all meals, game drives and selected beverages

Follow the N2 on the Grahamstown road for 65kms, turn left at the Shamwari sign on to gravel (R342) for 7 kms, turn right at the Shamwari sign.

From Johannesburg
(R32) turn left at Paterson (R342), follow the road for 11kms, turn left at the Shamwari sign.

From Grahamstown
Follow the N2 towards Port Elizabeth for 58kms, turn right at the Shamwari sign (R342) for 7kms, and right at the Shamwari sign.
